There was a noisy crowd of a couple hundred sign-waving anti-war protesters outside the arena where Bush appeared. "Wage war, not peace!" they chanted to a drumbeat.
Here's a story to make you smile. Some stupid bastard tripped and got knocked out cold during a sign pilfering escapade. He blamed "political passion" for his larceny. Considering his wife was with him, does this mean.... No, I don't want to go there.
Reading Wapo's and LA Times stories on the alert, I still can't figure out if the alert was overblown or justified. The intelligence seems to be a mix of old and new. So what's the bottome line? I need to know for discussing with (convincing) my friends and enemies. What's our best talking points on this?
They had this item on their website, and this is their intro:
The four remaining Democrats in the race for president disagreed as often Sunday over whose turn it was to talk as over major policy questions. When they did hit "the issues," they were sometimes at odds with each other, and -- occasionally -- with the facts.
I do have an excellent ode ready to go, don't think I don't, a great ode that would blow you away, but I'm not sharing it here because someone will steal it and put the cockblock on me.
Didn't really see the appeal before, but the screech and its fallout has sucked me in. I have fallen hard for the gruff, clumsy, non-photogenic, muttering, short statured, magnificent bastard. I have a fever, and only Dr. Dean has the cure.
He was my favorite candidate until he totally chickened out on that question. What a golden opportunity to put this issue in the national spotlight, to show Bush for what he is.
Goddmanmotherfuckingsumbitchfucking Clark!
And Jennings is motherfucking tool himself for the way he phrased the question. What a dipshit.
This concludes my segment of elevated political discourse for the day. Thank you and goodnight.
