The Latest Terror Warning and the "October Surprise"

Sun Aug 01, 2004 at 03:50:48 PM PDT

My theory:

The current Terror Threat is supposedly based on "documentary evidence" obtained during the raids last week by our good buddies the Pakistanis.  You remember them, the one's Bush asked to be sure and capture a "high profile" during the week of the Dem Convention?  So how surprised would you be if it turned out that the documents are fakes?  How shocked would you be if the so-called attacks are fake?

Here is my prediction, there will be an "ATTEMPTED" Terroist Attack on NY or Washington carried out by Pakistani or Saudi Intelligence operatives posing as terrorists for the sole purpose of allowing the Bush Administation to successfully thwart an attack.  The perpetrators will be captured and "tried" and never heard from again only to live happily ever after back home.

  •  I think that's a little too skeevy and sleazy, (none / 0)

but then again, I don't want to put anything past them.

After all, isn't this the group that promised money for New York after 9/11, never delivered all of it, and then suddenly proposed giving it last week, only a few weeks before the convention?

it's not as expensive as Chlorpromazine, and it can be made fashionable.

These guys have been too stupid for words, the more we let them do their thing, the more they f*ck it up beyond belief.  Any attempted attack, would generate TONS of scrutiny, and could only lead to Bush looking worse than he already does.  The only thing that works for him now, is to keep screaming at the top of his lungs so that he can run out the clock without anyone paying attention to what's really going on.

P.S. - the only 'documentary' evidence is F911 and a paralyzed Bush holding a goat book...

    This was an interesting question posed in the last Fox poll 7-22;

#37. If there were a major terrorist attack before Election Day, would you be more likely to vote to re-elect George W. Bush or less likely to vote for Bush?

    1. More likely    36%
    2. Less likely     35%
    3. No diff.          24%
    4. Not sure        05%

I wonder why they asked that question?

  •  To elaborate on this theme... (none / 1)

...I would venture that this is the "August Surprise" unfolding in front of us right now in the NYC area.  I would expect that some "thwarted terrorists" will abandon their "explosives-laden" truck and escape with their lives while the "authorities"  sieze the evidence to great huzzahs from the SCLM, all nicely timed for the Convention.  Perhaps the "explosives-laden truck" will conveniently detonate in a location that causes no damage but is clearly heard exploding by millions of people in the Metro area, with some "amateur" mini-cam footage by a lucky citizen who happens to be at a Little League game as the truck goes by and detonates. They could probably come up with some spare "DNA evidence" scraped from the wreckage that would point to persons with semitic DNA, such as Arabs.  This scenario would be child's play to create, and the "enhanced terror alert" is merely the opening overture to the production to follow in time for the Convention and national attention in which to point out what a great job they are doing to protect us.

Ok, now I'm taking off my tin-foil hat, but if this is what happens, or something similar, I'm gonna have to say "I told you so!"
